Fresno, Calif. – Reno’s offensive might wasn’t enough to get three points in Saturday’s road match against Fresno FC.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw at Chukchansi Park after an own goal by Reno 1868 FC in the 31st minute, and then a goal by midfielder Raúl Mendiola in the 42nd minute.
Despite having 22 total shots and a majority of the possession (60 percent), Reno couldn’t find the back of the net a second time to earn the three points. The draw makes the third all-time in the Reno 1868 FC v Fresno FC series. The two clubs tied 1-1 in both matchups of 2018.
Reno’s offensive performance was impressive despite the absence of leading goal-scorer Brian Brown due to his Jamaican National Team call up.
The team is now onto its third straight match without a loss, the best start to the season in club history.
Reno 1868 FC returns home on March 30 to take on OKC Energy FC where they will look to go four straight games without a loss. For tickets, visit Reno1868FC.com or the Greater Nevada Field ticket office.
