RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski has been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team for the first time in his career. Marcinkowski, 22, is one of 25 players selected to the nearly month-long training stint in Doha, Qatar. Marcinkowski spent time with the U23 squad during the 2019 USL season.

The USMNT will train from Jan. 5-25 before returning to the U.S. to face Costa Rica on Feb.. 1 in Carson, Calif.

"Congratulations to JT on the call up to the full national team," said head coach Ian Russell. "It's a well-deserved honor, he's had a lot of positive growth from year one to year two. We can't wait to see his progression continue."

Marcinkowski has appeared with Reno on loan from San Jose 40 matches over the last two seasons, tallying 133 saves and 9 shutouts. Both totals are the second most in club history. Marcinkowski’s 40 starts are tied for the 10th most in club history as well, and owns club records for the most saves in a single season (70) as well as highest save percentage (71.6%).

The keeper owns the club record for saves in a single game as well, with nine against El Paso on Oct. 5. In both of his seasons with Reno, Marcinkowski has led the club in save percentage and saves.

Joining Marcinkowski on the USMNT is Jackson Yueill, who appeared in seven matches with Reno in 2017 and 2018. Yueill and Marcinkowski are the only two players to join the USMNT after appearing with Reno 1868 FC.
