RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC has signed Christiano François to a 2020 USL contract, pending league and federation approval. François comes to the club after spending 2019 with Ottawa Fury FC, where he scored eight goals and six assists as a winger.

“François is a player that was one of our primary targets this year to bring to Reno,” said head coach Ian Russell. “He’s a wide player that possesses a lot of pace and can definitely get behind the defense. He can take guys on one on one.”

In his four-year USL career, François owns 12 goals and 19 assists. In the last two seasons, François has appeared in 62 games, starting 58 and tallying over 5,000 minutes played. In 2019, François’ eight goals were tied for third on the club and his six assists were tied with the club lead.

“He works really hard,” added Russell. “He’s another player that is going to do the defensive work we ask, but is extremely dynamic in attack and is going to cause a lot of issues for opposing defenses.”

Internationally, François has appeared in two games with the Haitian national team in September of 2019.

With the signing, Reno’s 2020 roster stands as follows:

Defenders: (4) Brent Richards, Thomas Janjigian, Yosimar Hernandez, Ayrton Statie

Midfielders: (6) Sam Gleadle, Mouhamed Dabo, Tucker Bone, Sergio Rivas, Kevin Partida, Christiano François

Forwards: (4) Corey Hertzog, Benji Kikanovic, Foster Langsdorf, Aidan Apodaca
