RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC has signed two new players ahead of Saturday’s preseason friendly with San Diego Loyal SC. Midfielders Emilio Ycaza and Diego Casillas will be eligible for selection on Saturday.
Casillas comes to Reno with USL Championship experience. The midfielder appeared in 21 games last season for Fresno FC, starting three and racking up over 700 minutes. Casillas scored twice and added two assists for the Zorros in 2019.
Ycaza comes to Reno after attending the University of South Florida. Across two seasons with the Bulls, Ycaza appeared in 32 games, starting 24. The midfielder scored seven goals and earned three assists over the two seasons, including two game winners. A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ycaza was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic team in 2018 and 2019.
