Alex Margulies

Reno native Alex Margulies brings a wealth of experience into the Reno 1868 broadcast booth.  Alex is a Sports Anchor and Reporter for Sinclair Reno, providing content for many shows and productions on News 4, Fox 11 & My 21 TV.

In addition to his duties locally on television, Alex also has an extensive background in other areas of broadcasting, including play-by-play.  He is the sideline reporter for University of Nevada football, as well as a fill-in broadcaster for baseball and men’s and women’s basketball.  Margulies has also filled in as a color commentator for Reno Aces games on My 21 TV, as well as play-by-play for the Reno Bighorns.  Prior to moving back to Northern Nevada, Alex spent four years broadcasting minor league baseball in Fort Myers, Florida (Minnesota Twins affiliate) and Modesto, California (Colorado Rockies affiliate).  He got his start broadcasting as a student at the University of Miami.  After moving to Florida as a teenager, Alex is thrilled to be home and on the airwaves in Northern Nevada.

Casey Tate

Casey Tate was the former  interim co-head coach in May of 2016 for the upcoming season. He will share the head coaching duties with Erin Otagaki. The 2016 season will be Tate’s eighth with the Wolf Pack soccer program after spending the past seven years as an assistant.

Last season saw several bright spots for Nevada. The Pack posted its highest win total in three seasons and the most goals scored at 17 in four seasons. The Pack also swept its final home weekend of play and ended the year with a winning home record. An attendance record was also set with more than 1,000 fans attending the final match of the season.

Tate came to Nevada from Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Arizona where he was the girls' soccer coach and physical education teacher. During his tenure at Seton Catholic, they won two Arizona high school state titles in 2006 and 2007. He was named Arizona State Coach of the Year 2007 and 2008, along with Region Coach of the Year 2007, 2008, and 2010. Tate was the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Coach of the Year 2006 and 2007.

Tate was an assistant coach on the Chandler-Gilbert staff for eight years with numerous national academic and soccer awards, along with a fourth place finish at the NJCAA Junior College National Tournament. He was on the Arizona Olympic Development Staff for four years and helped run their YOP program. Tate coached with the Gilbert Arsenal Soccer Club taking his teams to first place in league and a fourth place in the State Cup. He also was a volunteer coach for one season with the WPSL Northern Arizona Cheetahs.

Tate played at the collegiate level at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Indiana Institute of Technology, and Arizona State University. He received his degree from Ottawa University in History. Tate holds his USSF A license.

Tate and his wife, Kristina, have three daughters, Ava, Maleah, Makenzie, and a son, Chandler.
