RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC will have its Inaugural Soccer Summer Camps starting Tuesday, June 12 and will offer five sessions. The camps will train players in specific skillsets: goalkeeping, defending, finishing and skill development. For more advanced players, the club will offer Elite Training Sessions starting Sunday, August 13.

The camps will be broken into three categories:

• Goalkeeping Camp - Reno 1868 FC goalkeepers will teach the fundamental skills of goalkeeping, including handling the ball, footwork, positioning, diving, shot blocking and more. Each day will feature small-sided matches so players can implement news skills into a live match with lots of shot-stopping opportunities.

 

• Finishing/Attacking Camp - Reno 1868 FC professional coaches and strikers will teach the fundamental skills of shooting, one v one attacking, and more. Each day will feature small-sided matches so players can implement what they have learned into a live match with lots of goal-scoring opportunities.  *These Camps are paired with Goalkeeping Camp.

 

• Skill Building Camp – With a balance of age and skill level appropriate fun, soccer activities, skill-building soccer drills and scrimmages that allow for the application of the camp lessons taught. Players are encouraged to attend this camp taught by Reno 1868 FC players and coaches to increase their technical and tactical understanding of the game. Players will be separated by age and skill level.

Elite Training – Field Players

• Elite Training is a weekly, supplemental training program patterned upon the most successful professional youth academy programs worldwide.  The curriculum developed by Reno 1868 FC technical staff is based on decades of direct youth academy and professional experience in the U.S.  Curriculum focuses on breaking down and mastering fundamental techniques to become a “complete” player.  Training addresses all aspects of the game: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological.  Players will have the freedom to make mistakes to enable them to push past existing skill levels.  Training led by Reno 1868 FC professional coaching staff.

 

Elite Training – Goalkeepers

• Elite Training - Goalkeeping is a weekly, elite-level supplemental training program designed for goalkeepers to master fundamental techniques and focus on components of the game within their control. Keepers will encounter replicate situations to develop tactical awareness and improve decision-making. Training addresses all aspects of the game: technical, tactical, physical and psychological.  Players will have the freedom to make mistakes to enable them to push past existing skill levels.  Training led by Reno 1868 FC professional coaching staff and professional goalkeepers.
