RENO, Nev. — Reno 1868 FC looks to continue its hot streak on Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colo. where it will play Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

1868 FC (3-3-2) is on a four-match win streak and the team has posted an astounding 14-0 goals scored-to-goals conceded ratio during that span.

Reno forward Dane Kelly has exploded for seven goals in the past three matches and leads the USL with nine goals.

Midfielder Anibal Echeverria said the spirits were high at Thursday’s training and that the team looked crisp following Wednesday’s win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC.

Echeverria added that in order to avoid another tie against the Switchbacks (3-4-4), Reno must convert chances as they’ve done since the April 22 tie.

“It’s all about finishing our chances and not letting it slip like we did last time,” Echeverria said.

What has worked best over the win streak has been a combination of two things, goalkeeper Russell Klabough said.

Reno defenders are getting back to full health and the efficiency is translating all over the pitch.

“I see a team that is working together,” Klabough said. “A lot of it comes from the whole team talking to each other.

“The defensive line is playing really well but it really is about all the hard work we are putting in as a team.”

The Switchbacks are coming off a 5-2 loss on May 20 to Real Monarchs SLC.

Switchbacks FC defender Josh Suggs opened up the scoring in the 25th minute, Real took control of the game scoring five-straight goals behind Chandler Hoffman (two goals) and Daniel Haber (one goal, two assists).

Despite a late goal from Kevaughn Frater in the 87th minute, Colorado Springs could not claw its way back.
