RENO, Nev. — Reno 1868 FC remains one of the dominant teams in the USL and built on that dominance Saturday night with a 2-0 win over rival Sacramento Republic FC.

In front of 6,060 fans at Greater Nevada Field, Reno 1868 FC beat its rivals thanks to the lethal combination of Dane Kelly and Antoine Hoppenot.

Hoppenot kicked off the scoring for Reno in the 38th minute after Kelly found him streaking near the far sideline.

Hoppenot took it past a Sacramento defender and put his fourth goal since May 24th in the back of the net.

"I (assisted) Dane the last match, so he assisted me this match," Hoppenot said after the match. "I love the soccer we're playing right now."

Kelly wasn't done on the night and scored his 60th career goal in the USL in the 73rd minute off an assist from midfielder Seth Casiple.

The reigning USL Player of the Month and the league’s all-time leading goal-scorer now has 12 goals this season.

With the win, Reno 1868 FC remains entrenched in the top half of the Western Conference Standings after earning another three points. The team that was once in last place in the Western Conference Standings is now poised for a top five position.

Reno 1868 FC will rest up and train for a week before hitting the road to play Real Monarchs SLC.

Reno will return home on June 30 to face Didier Drogba and Phoenix Rising FC.
