RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC players just keep reaping in league honors as two key pieces of Reno’s central attack were named to the USL’s Team of the Week on Tuesday.
Forward Dane Kelly, who scored his 60th career USL goal on Saturday, and midfielder Antoine Hoppenot were once again honored by the USL.
Kelly, who is also the USL’s Player of the Month, is the USL’s goal-scoring leader with 12 goals on the year and also displayed his passing touch last week during Reno’s back-to-back wins.
Kelly assisted Hoppenot in Saturday’s 2-0 win over rival Sacramento Republic FC before scoring a goal himself later in the match.
Hoppenot’s goal was his fourth since May 24th as the midfielder has been on fire from the forward spot next to Kelly. Hoppenot also assisted Kelly in the 3-2 win over Rio Grande Valley FC.
Kelly, Hoppenot and the rest of Reno 1868 FC are back in action Monday when they travel to face Real Monarchs SLC.
Reno 1868 FC will host a watch party at The Stage @ the Zone inside Harrah’s Reno at 6 p.m.
