RENO, Nev. — Two of the USL’s top teams square off for a huge rematch on Monday in Sandy, Utah.

A red-hot Reno 1868 FC squad takes its seven-match unbeaten streak in the USL to Utah to face Western Conference leaders Real Monarchs SLC.

The two teams meet for the second time this season. Real Monarchs SLC took the first match 5-3 back on April 6.

Although Real Monarchs SLC’s record has only one blemish in the win-loss-tie column, Reno 1868 FC has posted one of the biggest turnarounds in all of U.S. professional soccer.

The Reno attack (28 goals) over this incredible turnaround has been led by forward Dane Kelly, who scored his 60th career USL goal in Reno’s most recent win over rival Sacramento Republic FC on June 10.

Kelly also leads the USL with 12 goals this season.

Kelly has had plenty of help up front with midfielder/forward Antoine Hoppenot, who has exploded for four goals since May 24.

Both Hoppenot and Kelly earned USL Team of the Week honors last week.

With a revitalized attack and healthy defensive line, Reno 1868 FC will look to continue its climb up the standings after being in dead last earlier in this season

However, it will have to top Chandler Hoffman (8 goals) and a dominant Real Monarchs SLC team first in one of the biggest fixtures left on the USL schedule.

Kickoff for Monday’s match is set for 6 p.m. PT.

Reno 1868 FC will hold its official watch party at The Stage @ The Zone inside Harrah’s Reno located in downtown Reno. Doors open at 5 p.m. and patrons must be 21 or older to attend Monday’s watch party.
