OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Reno 1868 FC’s six-match unbeaten streak ended despite a strong effort from the team on Wednesday.

Reno fell 1-0 to OKC Energy FC after a second-half goal by Jose Angulo decided it.

After a defensive tussle to begin the match, a controversial call in the 29th minute quite possibly shaped the rest of the match.

Midfielder Fatai Alashe, who was down for just one match from the San Jose Earthquakes, was issued a red-card after making contact with an OKC player.

Reno played with 10-men the rest of the match and despite three shots on target, could not convert the equalizer.

The loss didn’t do significant damage to Reno 1868 FC’s playoff hopes as Reno has earned three points on this three-match road trip and will likely remain in the top half of the Western Conference standings.

Reno continues its road trip on Saturday at Tulsa Roughnecks FC (5:30 p.m.) The watch party will be held inside the Stage at the Zone (Harrah’s).
