RENO, Nev. -- Revenge never tasted so sweet for Reno 1868 FC as the club topped San Antonio FC 2-0 on Saturday night.

In front of 5,847 fans, Reno 1868 FC topped San Antonio to win its second-straight match and snapped San Antonio’s five-match winning streak in the process.

Reno’s win came as the team pressed from start to finish.

Midfielder Luis Felipe continued his incredible form and got Reno on the board first in the 25th minute.

Reno went into the locker room up 1-0 against the top defense in the league and didn’t stop after halftime.

As San Antonio continued to have trouble with Reno’s relentless offensive attack, it was super-sub Brian Brown who may have recorded the goal of the season.

Brown stole a pass from San Antonio keeper Diego Restrepo, pushed it upfield and scored on an open net for the 2-0 dagger in the 70th minute.

With the win, Reno stayed firm in fourth place in the USL’s Western Conference, recorded its 51st goal of the season (most in the United States) and built momentum heading into a road match at Sacramento.

Reno hits the road on August 19 to take on a playoff-contending rival Sacramento Republic FC.
