RENO, Nev. – A playoff spot and USL single-season record are just a stone’s throw away for Reno 1868 FC.
But the club is taking it one match at a time and has its sights set on LA Galaxy II. Both clubs square off for the second time this season on Wednesday.
The last time these two met, Reno 1868 FC crushed LA 9-0, setting a new USL mark for the biggest win in league history.
Those nine goals are part of Reno’s 57-goal season. The club is now five goals away from the USL record for most goals in a single season.
Reno forward Dane Kelly, who is tied for the league-lead in goals scored (16), returns to the Reno lineup after his international debut with Jamaica.
Kelly looks to add firepower back to a Reno squad that has pulled-off five-straight wins and sits in third place in the West.
LA Galaxy II is coming off a 1-0 win over Rio Grande Valley and despite three wins in its past five matches, sits third to last in the West.
Justin Dhillon leads the club with six goals.
Kickoff for Wednesday’s match is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.
