RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC aims to secure a playoff spot on Wednesday when the club hosts OKC Energy FC.
Kickoff at Greater Nevada Field is slated for 6:45 p.m. and the match will be on ESPN3.
Reno is 0-1 against OKC this season and will look to rebound after a 1-0 loss at Rio Grande Valley FC this past Saturday.
Reno comes in with 49 points and three points away from clinching a spot in the playoffs. Reno is also two goals away from breaking the USL record for most goals in a regular season.
The record (61) is currently held by New York Red Bulls II.
However, Reno will have to go without leading scorer Dane Kelly (16 goals), who is suspended following a red card in Saturday’s match.
Prolific scorers Antoine Hoppenot and Chris Wehan are still available for Reno as well as super sub Brian Brown, who has been a spark off the bench all season.
Reno has scored 60 goals this season, the second-most in North America. OKC Energy FC is led by José Angulo with eight goals.
Wednesday is College Night at Greater Nevada Field. All college students who show their college ID can get into the game for just $5.
