RENO, Nev. – He captained our team and did it with masterful artistry on the defensive side of the pitch.
For that, defender Jimmy Ockford has been named Reno 1868 FC’s Defender of the Year
Ockford’s presence in the back-four was unparalleled as he led Reno with 2,759 minutes and finished third in the USL with 167 clearances while recording 71 interceptions.
Ockford also scored four goals off during set-piece situations becoming one of the top scoring defenders in the league. Ockford didn’t just log extended minutes in Reno.
Ockford was called up to play in July during San Jose’s friendly against German side Eintracht Frankfurt back in July.
