RENO, Nev. — Chris Wehan bent a screamer from outside the box in the 22nd minute of Reno's rivalry match against Sacramento to cap off a stunning comeback and secure the season series against Republic FC.

Wehan's goal from the free kick earned Reno's Goal of the Year on Wednesday. Five minutes before that goal, USL MVP Dane Kelly tied up the match at 1-1 in front of a raucous crowd in Sacramento.

Wehan, who was named USL Rookie of the Year last week, continued his amazing season after that match finishing the year with eight goals and league-leading 12 assists. His 66 chances created were good for third-best during the regular season.

Reno finished the season with 17 wins, a USL record 75 goals and a playoff appearance in the club's inaugural season.
