RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC is bringing back one of its goalkeepers from last year’s historic campaign, the club announced on Friday.

Goalkeeper Russ Klabough has signed a deal with the club, pending league and federation approval.

Klabough spent a majority of last season on Reno’s practice squad but saw action from time to time including a start in a 6-1 win over Portland Timbers 2 on Sept. 23.

“Russ is a strong, physical keeper who is already very familiar with our style of play,” Reno head coach Ian Russell said. “We’re happy to bring him back and add experience to our locker room.”

Klabough also saw time in Reno’s friendly against Liga MX power Atlas FC and was the starting goalkeeper in Reno’s two U.S. Open Cup matches. He posted a 67 percent save percentage, the second-highest on the team and was 1-0 during the regular season.

“I’m excited to come back and help out next season,” Klabough said. “We had a great group of guys last year and I’m looking forward to what is in store for next season.”
