RENO, Nev. – Forwards Danny Musovski and Mohamed Thiaw were signed by the San Jose Earthquakes Thursday and were sent on a one-year loan to Reno, both clubs announced on Thursday.

Both players have the opportunity to move back and forth between San Jose and Reno throughout their loan.

Musovski, 22, was selected by San Jose with the 30th overall pick out of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was a four-year starter and two-time All-America selection for UNLV.

During his senior season in 2017, he scored 15 goals and added six assists in 16 appearances, earning Third Team All-America and Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors.

“It’s great to be here in Reno,” Musovski said. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about the team and I am excited to build chemistry and get going.”

Thiaw, 23, was the 35th overall pick out of the University of Louisville. He scored 61 goals over four collegiate seasons at the University of Louisville and Cincinnati State, adding 20 assists. Thiaw was a two-time All-America selection and the 2015 Junior College Player of the Year.

“It feels great to be on a great team,” Thiaw said. “I am hoping to have a successful season here with Reno.

“I am hoping to get a lot of goals for the team and a lot of wins.”
