RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC is looking to keep momentum rolling after the club’s first win of the 2018 season this Saturday when it hosts OKC Energy FC at Greater Nevada Field.
Kickoff for the Western Conference showdown is set for 6:45 p.m.
Both clubs, who met in the 2017 USL Cup Playoff times enter Saturday’s match after relatively cold starts to the season.
For Reno, the club notched its first win of the 2018 season last Saturday after a thrilling 2-1 comeback over Portland Timbers 2.
Reno’s leading scorer Danny Musovski scored both goals in the win as Reno hopes for another midseason turnaround, similar to 2017’s inaugural season.
Energy FC started off 2018 with a win but have lost five-straight matches as the club has dealt with a rash of injuries. OKC’s leading scorer from 2017, Jose Angulo, is expected to return to the lineup after a brief injury spell.
Saturday’s match is a rematch of the 2017 USL Cup Playoff match that OKC took 1-0 to knock Reno out of the Western Conference quarterfinals. OKC leads the all-time series 2-1 (series tied 1-1 in the regular season).
Saturday will also be a special night for Reno 1868 FC as the club partners with Our Center for the club’s first Pride Night. Commemorative scarves will be on sale at the team shop with proceeds going back to Our Center.
The first 1,868 fans Saturday will also receive a free regulation-sized soccer ball courtesy of Renown Health and Hometown Health. Tickets for Saturday’s match can be purchased at Reno1868FC.com/tickets.
