RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC has re-signed midfielder Seth Casiple, the club announced Monday pending league and federation approval.
Casiple, a native of San Diego, returns for his third season in the “Biggest Little City” after being a frequent contributor in back-to-back runs to the postseason.
“Seth has been an integral part of our team for the past two seasons,” Reno head coach Ian Russell said Monday. “To bring back a player with that familiarity and who contributes both on and off the pitch is a huge plus for us headed into our third season.”
Casiple has contributed in about every way possible throughout his first two years in Reno.
This past season, Casiple notched three goals to along with three assists. Casiple notched similar figures in 2017 with four goals and three assists during Reno’s record-breaking season.
Casiple has scored outside the box, inside the box and off a penalty kick. Additionally, the veteran midfielder has provided a spark in Reno’s distribution adding assists off corner kicks and crucial crosses.
With the addition of Casiple, Reno now has eight players set to be on the 2019 roster. Casiple becomes the third midfielder along with Lindo Mfeka and new addition Raul Mendiola.
Reno 1868 FC begins its season Feb. 9 in a preseason duel with MLS affiliate, the San Jose Earthquakes at 12:15 p.m. inside Greater Nevada Field. Tickets for that match can be found at Reno1868FC.com or at the Greater Nevada Field ticket office.
