RENO, Nev. -- Midfielder Sam Gleadle has re-signed with Reno 1868 FC pending league and federation approval, the club announced Wednesday.
Gleadle returns to Reno after signing his first pro contract with the club in 2018.
“Sam is a really quick, wide player that’s versatile that can play underneath the forward, that can play wide, and that can play outside back” Reno Head Coach Ian Russell said Wednesday. “He’s definitely a good signing for us.”
Gleadle made two appearances for the club in the 2018 season in non-USL play.
Before signing with Reno 1868 FC, Gleadle spent time with USL League 2 (formerly USL PDL) club Albuquerque Sol FC after graduating from the University of New Mexico where he was four-year starter.
Reno 1868 FC begins its season with a preseason friendly this Saturday, February 9 at Greater Nevada Field. The club takes on its MLS affiliate, the San Jose Earthquakes and kickoff is slated for 12:15 p.m.
