Rivas, 21, was drafted 26th overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. The midfielder spent four years at Seattle University where he made 85 appearances, scored 19 goals and notched 27 assists.

Growing up Rivas played for New Mexico Rush. The midfielder also spent time with  Albuquerque Sol FC and Seattle Sounders U23 of the USL League Two division.

In his free time, Rivas enjoys exploring, going on walks, sleeping, meditating and going to the park. If he weren't playing soccer he would want to be a private soccer trainer and his number one travel destination is Australia.
