Thomas Janjigian returns for his fourth season with Reno 1868 FC, having been a part of the club since the inaugural 2017 season. Janjigian sits 10th all time in Reno with 40 career starts.

Janjigian had a strong 2019 season, starting the club’s final eight regular season matches as well as the playoff match against Sacramento Republic FC. Janjigian appeared in 20 matches in 2019, starting 17. In August, Janjigian scored his first career goal. The defender headed in a corner kick to give Reno a 1-0 lead on the road against Rio Grande Valley FC.

The 6-foot-4 defender made 20 appearances for the club in 2018 and four in 2017.  The defender was called up to play with Reno’s Major League Soccer affiliate, the San Jose Earthquakes in their U.S. Open Cup victory over the San Francisco Deltas during the 2017 season. That same year, Janjigian played in the Earthquakes’ friendly against Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Growing up, Janjigian played for Ballistic United Soccer Club, Mustang Soccer Club, and De Anza Development Academy. He also spent time with Golden State Force of USL League Two.

During his free time you can find him outside hiking and camping, while occasionally going inside to play video games. If he weren’t playing soccer, his career choice would be working with animals. His number one travel destination is the Bahamas.
