RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC has signed Sparks High product and former San Jose Earthquake draft pick Kevin Partida for the 2020 season. Partida spent part of the 2019 season in Reno on loan from San Jose, as well as part of the 2018 season when the Quakes acquired him on a season-long loan from Reno.
“I’m really excited to be back home, and to have a full season with this team,” said Partida. “I’ve learned a lot season by season, and I hope I can provide a lot to the club in 2020.”
In 2019, Partida appeared in 13 games, including 11 starts. Partida’s lone assist on the season came in a 2-0 road win over Las Vegas. Partida tallied a goal and an assist in 2018, when he appeared in 10 games, starting nine.
“Our staff’s really excited to bring Kevin back,” said head coach Ian Russell. “When he’s been in Reno he’s been very valuable to the team. I think he’s one of the best midfielders in the league and will be a great addition to the club in 2020.”
Partida has made five MLS appearances with San Jose in 2018 and 2019, tallying 291 minutes of action. In an international friendly against Real Valladolid C.F. on July 16, 2019, Partida started and played 57 minutes.
